DOGE: Dawn of a New Era of Governance - Efficiency and Agility
SUMMARY:
In a groundbreaking move, President-Elect Donald Trump has introduced the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), heralding a new era of governance. This initiative emphasizes self-regulated systems rooted in the Constitution and natural laws. As the first of its kind globally, DOGE aims to establish a master control for government organizations, eliminating waste and outdated practices. The anticipated impact includes streamlining government operations and reducing bureaucratic red tape. This pivotal moment positions the US at the forefront of restructuring its systems towards self-regulatory organizations.
KEY POINTS of ARTICLE:
A new Department of Government Efficiency aims to transform U.S. governance through self-regulation.
Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy lead DOGE, focusing on natural system principles for efficiency.
The initiative seeks to dismantle outdated bureaucratic structures, promoting adaptive and agile governance.
Why self-regulated systems are the pinnacle of sustainability
In all countries around the world, businesses, organizations, governments and people on a personal level are undergoing the most fundamental changes that ever occurred in history. A change that has been palpably going on for almost two decades. And it just entered a new stage: The clean up phase.
We are witnessing a full transformation from the old world as we know it, characterized by 2-dimensional beings, a linear modus operandi in a simplistically fragmented worldview and an ever exploding hierarchical bureaucracy, into a New World of still unknown, but already visible silhouettes of this New World. With the full picture missing we’re still in uncharted territory. And just about to wade in deeper. The most fundamental thing in going into new territory is traveling light. Being agile. Flexible. Adaptive. To change with whatever change is needed to adapt quickly to a different circumstances. This is what natural systems do NATURALLY. This is what occurs in self-regulated systems NATURALLY. And this is what we're getting ready for.
A new order has begun to form, and with it, a new way of functioning of society and governance. A new kind of social evolution that is much more than just a revolution.
The most fundamental thing in going into new territory is traveling light.
While politicians still play by the old playbook - bickering over cabinet member proposals, arguing over debt ceilings and finger pointing - there are other components which will accelerate the real transformation: DOGE — the newly formed Department of Government Efficiency.
Run by Elon Musk, a physicist and Vivek Ramaswamy - a biologist. Two disruptors that understand that in the world of complexity, business training is an add-on. Real change of complex systems comes from understanding how natural systems work and why they are able to sustain. Natural systems are marked by two main components: healthy mechanisms of control and regulation. Healthy systems all have self-regulation in common. This is not something conventional business training teaches.
Economics-focused thinking, which colored the days from the big financial crisis in 2008, and which has lost its meaning over the course of the past four years with the debt explosion around the world, does not suffice anymore to understand the ongoing transformation. Even if returning to base economics (which is a must) is widely seen as necessary path forward, economics-focused thinking alone is insufficient. The dynamic inter-connectedness and ramifications of demographics, ecology/environment, technology and debt generate enormous complexity for people, government and countries. Managing this complexity is the focal point where the real drivers of transformation have to meet.
Enter: biologist, physicist, cybernetics and pattern thinkers.
Cybernetics comes from Greek “kybernetes'“ which means ‘helmsman’. The word is also contained in the origin word roots of ‘governance’, and ‘governor’.
Cybernetics is the science of steering, regulation and control.
There’s an insight that there are natural regularities that determine control and regulation of ALL systems. Government and governance is no exception. In fact, it’s at the heart.
There’s much to learn from control and regulation of natural systems. Neurosciences in particular, the investigation of brains and the central nervous system, have much to teach about that. So, systems thinkers, biologists, physicists look at things from a control and regulating perspective.
Stafford Beer famously knew ”Organize a system so as to make it self-organizing”.
This gold rule of Stafford Beer is where biology, physics, cybernetics meet. Because simple re-structuring of our government organizations is not enough. Re-structuring them so that they have a built-in capability of self-regulation is future forward and the name of the game for the new era we're going in. Where the air principle reigns, speed is super charged and trials and errors have to be made room for to adapt and learn quickly. It's the nature of natural systems that prevailed for over 4 billion years.
Natural systems are marked by two main components: healthy mechanisms of control and regulation.
With the introduction of President-Elect Donald Trump’s DOGE - Department of Government Efficiency - the US is at the forefront of ushering in a new era of governance. Starting with a cleaning crew that work their ways towards self-regulated systems that keep bureaucracies under control. Too many old, outdated structures have grown like cancers in the Washington DC landscape. Agencies with thousands of thousands of programs and personnel have become synonymous with uncontrolled growth and cost. Uncontrolled growth exists in nature only with cancer cells. So, those old murky systems have to be dismantled. For the US to take the lead in re-structuring its systems towards self-regulatory organizations is a strong move.
This is where systems-thinkers who understand living organisms can really make a difference. And it's exciting!
While politicians and cabinet members might still argue over things, the real impact happens from setting up self-regulated governance mechanisms, anchored in the Constitution and in natural laws.
The first step? Cleaning the digestive system (bloated apparatus) of an organism:
Loosening the bowel movements. Cutting loose waste, old baggage and things we no longer need.
Think of it like starting a detox with accelerating your digestive system at the onset of a diet. Or like purging your closet. Not in a sense of just putting things in a box, neatly stored away, but in getting rid of clothes that no longer fit us.
The government machinery with its many agencies, regulatory rules, huge personnel and thousands of thousands of programs are part of large malfunctioning organizations that were here and there a bit “re-structured”, but for over 100 years not thoroughly cleaned out.
DOGE is about putting a master control for government organizations in place. That is a first in the world. Exciting times ahead, indeed
Watch why the administrative state has gotten out of control.
